[Spaces] Real Living’s 2012 Decor Comp Winner Mel Bradley’s Home

realliving cover smallerI have just discovered a real awesome interior design (home decor) magazine yesterday, hunting through back-dated issues. Real Living (Your Home, Made Easy) from Australia is such a great magazine, with heaps of designing ideas, nice layout and excellent pictures. It finally dawned on me that Australia is full of really magnificent homes! This is one of them.realliving1.1

realliving2.1realliving5.1Home of interior stylist and colour consultant, Mel Bradley and management consultant/musician husband, Chris Bradley, they share this lovely space with their two daughters. They bought over this post-war, faux brick cottage house with no redeeming features because they had it renovated in mind. They were going to create a home that was contemporary yet timeless.

realliving3.1realliving4.1They have decided on their colour scheme for the house – a black house with yellow as an ascent, with textures like exposed bricks, wooden beams and concrete. I totally think that she has created her dream home. For more of the magazine, here for their website. Real Living is also on Instagram @Reallivingmag

Till next time, have a luminous Wednesday *_^

As White As Dream, That Dream of You

Leaving behind, I stripped away those colours that would define me. Nothing but pure creamy WHITE. Feeling naked and liberated, I crushed into the sand of time, walking along those waves of unbelievably soft and beautiful corners of my mind, … Continue reading

The House of Spirit

From HOME Journal Magazine Hong Kong (February 2012)

From HOME Journal Magazine Hong Kong (February 2012)

No, I am not talking about CONJURING *_^  I am looking at the home of Florence Lopez, an antique dealer who has such great taste in terms of home styling. In Saint-Germain-des-Pres, this home exhibits elegance, modernity with a touch of humour all at once, according to the HOME Journal February 2012 issue (Yes, I like back dated magazines!). According to her, furniture and works of art – provided they are quality pieces – have a heart and are living beings, almost like people (hence the title above for the article, I guess).

This chic Parisian apartment, situated in Saint-Germain-des-Pres, is located on the top floor of a building from the 18th century. Glazed and hyper luminous, it served for a long time as the atelier of a sculptor. (no wonder that creative space and bold colours). It’s definitely a space where you can let your creative juice flow! Home Journal is an inspirational interior designing magazine. More here.

[Instagram] A Little More Time, Please

ImageHow does one drain out that sense of sadness and leave behind the residue of a little happiness? It was a rocky one last week for me, knowing that someone as close and very dear to me in my heart as a moon to the sun is fast fading into the abyss of eternal mortality, and knowing that I can do nothing about it, except for spending a little more time. Each moment seems like a torment, physical and emotional. Her face and body says it all. From the depth of my heart, I know I don’t say it enough, but I really really do LOVE you, to the ends of the world. It is all right, it will be all right. You will always be here, close to my heart.

The Sun In Me

ImageImageI am not a morning person, but I can choose to be, if I want to. That’s the beauty of waking up earlier in the morning, you get a glimpse of what nature sees in you, and you see in her, in return. She whispers into my ears, I run after her shadows. I pluck the soft pink petals on the branches with my mind, the sun shows her morning glow, piercing through those dancing leaves, teasing me, wanting me to follow her more. I am but an observer, beneath this naked early morning sky. I love my world, I love my life, this very morning. I wish you have that same love, in yours, or even more, than I do. LOVE and PEACEImageImage

[Chilling Out] Coffee @ Donutes

Lost in the moment of different faces at different corners, words overlapping within conversations of casual exchanges, at times rhythmic, at times high and low in pitch, but never once drowned by the jazzy tune that is lingering in this night air. Sipping my cup of mocha bit by bit, I wonder if the conversations over coffee and casual desserts and buns are deep in meanings of love, or perhaps daily chats like the wind blow casually, or could they be the freshness of friendships or reconnections of relationships? Whatever they may be, everyone is here for a good time, I feel. The night is slipping away, I am slowly enjoying my cup of coffee, flipping through pages of fashion magazines while trying to capture a fraction of my wondering mind, putting them down into words and actually thinking that this moment in life, is worth savoring after all *_^

[Places] Rooftop Meals With A View

Image

Wouldn’t it be magical if you can enjoy a great drink or perhaps meal while taking in the whole view of the city or beautiful skyline as you dine? I believe it would feel like you are on top of the world, for that moment, and all your daily worries will all be melt away, instantaneously. Well, I know I would, for sure! I came across this link via one of my favourite blogs, This Is Glamorous by Roseline (here for more), where she shared a few lovely links, and it brought me over to another great blog called Small Shop Studio! Let’s enjoy the views at some of the bars here, shall we? Let’s have a mental vacation, before the real ones roll in *_^

insta collage2

The past week have been pretty busy, basically, getting this new blog up and running, never taken so many pictures in a week in my life! BUT, I am enjoying it. Who am I kidding? I have always wanted to start this, now it has finally come true. I am glad and thanks so much for those of you out there, who have read, commented and followed me. Keep reading and I would most definitely love to hear from you, how to make this space even better.

As always, stay luminous and be happy *_^

Architecture In Style

ImageImageImageImageImageI truly believe everyone dreams of a really nice home, a place where we can always come home to, comfortably and just be ourselves. I, too love homes that have really nice designs and concepts. Of course, everyone’s dream home can be very different. What I love about this home:

spacious, structured, open, transparent, cool, clean lines, modern and yet chic in a quiet way.

Happy viewing and hope you have found your dream home!

[Places] Lost in Time

ImageImageImageImageImagePenang is most definitely one of my favourite places. It holds great memories for me as I spent four years of my university life there, carefree and adventurous, nonetheless. It has so much to offer, from culturally infused heritage streets and buildings, to heavenly delightful food and sights to visit. Here is one place that I popped by many years ago, while it was being restored. I met a Mynmar worker there and befriended him. He even wrote me letters!

Here, I revisited, with my hubby (tall guy in red) and it still smells of the fresh memories that linger on, in my mind. The intricate sculpting work and design intrigued me the most. A place called Thean Ho Kong (Temple of Heavenly Queen), it was founded in 1860s and went through restorations, but still remain, strong, against the test of time.

Let there be a place, you hold close to your heart and will always visit, again and again.
