[Eating Out] BMS Organics Dinner

bms collage2We were heading for the movie premiere of Kisah Paling Gengster the other day. Hubby was hungry already, so we decided to head over to BMS Organics at One Utama to have a healthy dinner (we have been eating heartily for the past one week since Pat’s sister was back from UK! Too much of “good” food *_^).

bms collagebms4This was my first time dining there. I ordered the Vegetarian Vermicelli Soup with soy milk, black sesame healthy drink and hubby ordered the fried rice with ginger tea. Main course comes with a small shot of ginger tea and two spirulina tablets. Interesting!

bms7bms6I must say the ginger tea was superb! The aroma of the ginger was exceptionally strong but VERY good! It hits you hard. The fried rice tasted much better than my vermicelli soup I must confess. Perhaps the soup was quite light. Nonetheless, it was a great meal as my dish was filled with lots of mushrooms and cilantro (which I love). They also sell a great deal of organic produce and products, which is worth checking out! After all that series of family dinners recently, I guess it’s high time I go back to my simple meals, eating more healthily from here onwards *_^

As White As Dream, That Dream of You

Leaving behind, I stripped away those colours that would define me. Nothing but pure creamy WHITE. Feeling naked and liberated, I crushed into the sand of time, walking along those waves of unbelievably soft and beautiful corners of my mind, … Continue reading

[Desserts] Life Is A Sweet Sensation

ImageImageLife is short, start with desserts first, I once read somewhere. From a health perspective, this is such a sinfully crazy idea! But from a life pleasure perspective, this scores high on the “happiness” scale of things in life. I am such a softy when it comes to these nice looking desserts – cakes, finger food, coffee, hot chocolate, you name, human can make them! (Beautifully, I must admit). How could one resist this temptation?

ImageImageWhen you have a gloomy  day, or things don’t seem to go your way, perhaps a nice cup of artfully crafted hot chocolate may do the trick to cheer you up a little? Or maybe making your own cup of coffee will do.

[Instagram] Days Without The Boys

ImageDo I miss them, yes and no. My boys were away at their grandparents place up North for the school holidays last week. Had some time to kill. Did my fair share of window shopping, instagrammED more pictures, perhaps, and had a bit more time for myself. Whenever they are around, my attention would be on them more, naturally. Not a bad thing at all, I adore my two little boys (though they are so grown up **and bigger in sizes** by now). Well, like most people say, they will forever be your little kids!

Good food (home cooked and eating out), good time, good catching up with certain things but great that now they are back home, with us!

Hope you had a great week before and happy week ahead. Stay luminous, always *_^

[Eating Out] A Great Thai Surprise

N2 Khanom Jeen Kaeng Khiaw Wan Moo

N2 Khanom Jeen Kaeng Khiaw Wan Moo

We went hunting for food at One Utama that day before my hubby’s movie, Unbeatable. We found ourselves seated at this quiet Thai restaurant called Old Siam Kopitiam at the New Wing food area. We ordered an appetizer called Fried Toufu and Pat was having his rice dish, I ordered a noodle dish and we wrapped up the meal with a dessert and a drink to share. It was surprisingly very delicious, granted that I seldom take Thai food (Not because I don’t like it but my tummy usually can’t handle the HEAT! The next day, I will usually have diarrhea and… all right, enough said!).

Anyway, back to our meal. It was absolutely awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Give the small little outlet a try the next time you are at One Utama. Am sure you will be pleasantly surprised, like me and my hubby *_^

Thai Laksa served with Pork in Thai Green Curry

Thai Laksa served with Pork in Thai Green Curry

The Thai Laksa looks really divine when it came. I looked at the dish and immediately, it reminded me of the Kelantanese laksa I used to grow up with back in my home town. When I poured the Thai green curry over the white soft coiled-up noodle, it even tasted like the laksa back home (though the Kelantanese laksa’s gravy colour is different, it is grayish instead of green in colour). My hubby’s stir-fried pork with rice dish was so yummilicious that I forgot to snap a picture! The basil made the dish interestingly good!

This dish may look docile, but beware of the fried dried chillies (in red), they are a little landmine! Can explode like a bomb in your mouth *_^

[Desserts] Cheesy Yummy Golden Yellow

komugi mango hokkaido2It’s official! We are huge fans of KOMUGI ^_^ This time around, it’s their sweet desserts. They don’t just look lovely, but also taste yummy in your mouth – creamy smooth textures. I personally prefer the Hokkaido Cheese Tart a little more, as it is less sweet than the Mango Cheese. Whichever, you will always get a great bite from Komugi. Don’t they just look divine? Thanks hubby for the lovely afternoon treat. Big hugs!

[Instagram] A Little More Time, Please

ImageHow does one drain out that sense of sadness and leave behind the residue of a little happiness? It was a rocky one last week for me, knowing that someone as close and very dear to me in my heart as a moon to the sun is fast fading into the abyss of eternal mortality, and knowing that I can do nothing about it, except for spending a little more time. Each moment seems like a torment, physical and emotional. Her face and body says it all. From the depth of my heart, I know I don’t say it enough, but I really really do LOVE you, to the ends of the world. It is all right, it will be all right. You will always be here, close to my heart.

[Bread] Soft Fluffy Dreams With Komugi

ImageImageOh how I love BREAD! (and desserts). At first, I didn’t quite get what my hubby was fussing about, kept going on and on about these lovely little buns from Komugi at Sunway Pyramid, until I tried one the other day. My, they are really heavenly tasty! Soft in texture, moist in most cases, and they come with quite some variety (with cute names to go with each too *_^). These are a few that we had. LOVE them all.

The fuwa fuwa cream bun was so yummilicious that we gobbled it down in a flash! Not in time for me to even snap a picture. See below *_^

[Instagram] A week of reflection

ImageContemplating and looking at how new things have come along, and how I can re-work on on-going things to bring it to another level. Life is strange, perhaps one needs to let go a little to see what new discoveries will come back. Maybe holding on too tight is not a good thing after all. Let it flow… like water, my friend. That was what Bruce Lee said in his interview in a Discovery Channel documentary called I AM BRUCE LEE (Love it!). I love this guy, I love his passion for life, I love his style, his confidence and most of all, I love his intellectuality and his determination to succeed and be a better person, each day. He is now, my new HERO. I salute you, Bruce Lee. No wonder, you are such a legend as your spirit lives on, till this day. Fighting, Jenn!

Have a magical week ahead, my friends *_^Image

[Cooking] A Little Black Is Good

ImageImageImageBeen meaning to share this for some time. This was what I cooked the other night for dinner. Though it may (not) look appetizing, but apparently, black fungus is very good for detoxifying our blood and helps maintain good health for our kidney (I love these). So, no harm eating some “black”/ dark coloured food for our meals. I made mushroom soup from white button mushrooms (with potatoes) and it turned out black! (but it was really creamy, thick and delicious, my hubby will vouch for me *_^) So, I called this dinner “Black Dinner”. I also fried egg with bitter gourds (which are never my sons favourite!). Nonetheless, not that important if it’s healthy, no? Haha. Better be healthy than be choosy!

Stay luminous and happy, always.Imagemushroom soupImage

Since we are on the subject of food, this was what we ate for breakfast yesterday, on a Sunday morning at Damansara Perdana. Since we moved away from there, my son, Aidan has been craving for TK Chong’s Chicken Hor Fun. Finally, we had a chance to go there, but we both realized that it tasted a little different than previously. After talking to the owner, only then we found out why. Apparently, the group of workers who used to prepare the dishes were no longer working there. At times, cooking is very uniquely “individualized”. Even though you may be given the same ingredients, each person’s cooking will come out tasting very different. This is one of my favourite FOOD BLOGS. It’s called My New Roots by Sarah Britton. She has amazing organic and healthy food recipes on her blog. Worth checking out! Here for more.

I believe it would feel like you are on top of the world, for that moment, and all your daily worries will all be melt away, instantaneously. Well, I know I would, for sure! I came across this link via one of my favourite blogs, This Is Glamorous by Roseline (here for more), where she shared a few lovely links, and it brought me over to another great blog called Small Shop Studio! Let’s enjoy the views at some of the bars here, shall we? Let’s have a mental vacation, before the real ones roll in *_^
